Death By Drama of the Day: Versatile Hong Kong-based soap opera actor Law Lok-lam must have pissed off a bunch of writers by telling a bunch of soap magazines that he writes a lot of his own lines because five characters he plays on five different shows all bought the farm on the same day.
His Grace Under Fire character died in a fight; his Fate to Fate character vomited to death; his Relic of an Emissary character passed away from an illness; his Police Station No. 7 and Virtues of Harmony characters weren’t even afforded the dignity of dying onscreen.
Despite his multiple terminations, Law took the deaths in stride, saying “When I get a job, I don’t care if my character in the drama will die. If he is supposed to die, he should go on and die.
“Why would dying in a drama matter? It’s not for real.”

Paging Joey Tribbiani of the Day: Apparently The CW is promoting Vampire Diaries with billboards telling kids to “Catch VD.”
A spokesperson said in a statement concerning the controversy: “VD simply stands for Vampire Diaries, and anyone who thinks otherwise should probably get themselves checked out.”
Kudos CW. You’re really setting the bar high for the rest of us.
